Using Your Avaya Phone

The Phone

Both the 9508 digital phone and the 9608 IP phone share the same features and functionality. The phone is a 24-button phone customized to meet the individual’s needs.

Understanding The Keys

  • The “Phone” button is an escape key back to the home screen.
  • There are four white “Soft Keys” that change depending on the state of the phone. These include options like, “Transfer,” “Hold,” “Conference,” “Redial,” and more.
  • The “Envelope” button is for accessing voicemail features.
  • The round radial is for navigating through the menu.
  • The “Contacts” button if for accessing the company directory.
  • The “A” button is for accessing personalized features.
  • The “History” button is for retrieving call history.
  • The “Handset Control” button is for usage with an optional headset.
  • The “Speaker” button is for hands-free operation.
  • The “Volume Control” button is for controlling the volume of the handset, speakerphone, and ringing volume.
  • The “Mute” button is to mute the phone and will be red when in use.
  • The number pad is used when dialing.
